Miss International 2005 Precious Lara Quigaman leads the creation of a new beauty pageant, the Turismo Pilipina.

Aside from Lara, the Turismo Pilipina Charities, Inc. Board of Directors is composed of Bb. Pilipinas International 2006 Denille Lou Valmonte and Bb. Pilipinas Universe 2002 Karen Loren Agustin. Turismo Pilipina is a nationwide search for the Filipina beauty, the winner will be the official spokesperson for the Department of Tourism. The search is on for Turismo Pilipina 2008 and it is open to natural-born Filipinas who are eager to contribute to the tourism promotions of the Philippines, and must be:

- 18-25 years old
- at least 5’5
- Single and never been married or given birth
- good moral standing
- possessing beauty of face and figure
- at least a high school graduate
- has a good knowledge of Philippine tourism and the Philippines in general

Miss Vera Krasova from Russia – 3rd Runner Up

Miss Marianne Cruz Gonzalez from Dominican Republic – 2nd Runner Up
